Virginia Howard is a Research Director in Gartner's Supply Chain Research group. Ms. Howard concentrates on supporting supply chain leaders in understanding value chain practices and strategies across the high-tech industry, building competency in innovation management and achieving collaborative advantage across supply chain networks. She has published research on design and orchestration of business ecosystems, development of culture and processes that drive innovation in the supply chain, as well as insights into industry trends to watch and best practices of leading high-tech supply chains.

Virginia Howard's Recent Gartner Activity
Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Howard held several senior management roles within supply chain in high tech, with responsibility for a wide range of core functional deliverables, including forecasting, planning, scheduling, strategic sourcing, supplier management, procurement, program and product life cycle management, and service operations. At Oracle, she was directly involved with the cross-functional teams that were introducing new Engineered Solution products, implementing supply chain IT platforms, sourcing evolutionary and disruptive technologies, segmenting suppliers, and outsourcing and ultimately reshoring manufacturing. Earlier in her career, she worked in service operations, designing and delivering global supply chain solutions to meet the aftermarket requirements for both consumer hardware and industrial semiconductor test equipment customers.
