Gartner’s 2021 Metrics of the Future Survey, which inquired about supply chain organizations’ experience and ability to use metrics in support of corporate goals, revealed:
57% of respondents reported that they have too many metrics to track, suggesting that they struggle to focus on the ones that really matter.
52% of respondents reported that metrics are viewed in isolated functional silos, potentially leading to suboptimized end-to-end supply chain performance.
47% of respondents reported lack of standard metrics definitions, and 46% said that their data quality and accuracy is questionable, indicating there is often disagreement on metric definitions, underlying data, and actions
