Alan Waite is a Research Director in the Gartner for Technical Professionals (GTP) team. He works in the Cloud Operations and Management group, specializing in infrastructure and operations. Current areas of focus include hybrid cloud architectures, private cloud implementation, and evaluation of cloud management platforms.
Mr. Waite has three decades of experience in the IT industry, having held positions ranging from systems engineer and solutions architect, to technical training and product management. He ran IBM technical training in Asia/Pacific for x86, system management and virtualization for five years. He then returned to Australia in the role of evangelist for enterprise infrastructure solutions and cloud. Before joining Gartner, he was the subject matter expert for converged integrated systems at IBM.
