Cian O Morain leads Gartner HR's research on the topics of organization design and change management. His research focuses on helping clients sustain employee engagement and productivity through change, and the design of structures, workflows, roles and networks that best unlock a responsive workforce.
He has also conducted research into recruiting topics such as employment branding, candidate behavior and candidate experience. Prior to joining Gartner, Cian spent 6 years working at Holker Watkin, a boutique executive search firm, that helped blue-chip corporations and private equity firms across the globe hire the best strategy talent. His research is also informed by his M.Sc. in Behavioral Science from the London School of Economics.
As a Principal at Holker Watkin, Mr. Morain was responsible for leading end-to-end executive search delivery for our C-Suite clients. This included advising his clients on profiles sought and labor market dynamics, acting as a trusted advisor to in-demand talent, devising search strategies and managing small teams in the delivery of those searches. His work spanned permanent retained searches and interim roles.
