Sr Director Analyst
Cory Decker is a Senior Director Analyst in Gartner's Enterprise Applications and Digital Workplace practice. He advises enterprise and application leaders on how to turn AI investment into measurable business value while retaining control of their application platforms and strategies.
His research covers the future of work, where AI delivers real value, enterprise AI assistants and agentic AI from OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity, and others, AI-enabled knowledge work, and emerging AI vendors and architectures. He helps leaders develop an AI strategy and framework that goes beyond AI as traditional software to redesigning work in the age of AI.
As a former technical founder, he brings an operator's perspective to balancing technical opportunity with the realities of enterprise implementation.
Previous experience
Before joining Gartner, Cory was a three-time technical founder across proptech, geospatial, energy, and AI. Most recently, he co-founded and led PropertyFi, an AI and computer-vision property-intelligence company. He has also held director-level IT and technical consulting roles, served as CTO for several startups, and worked in enterprise solutions architecture, product management, and marketing.
This experience across buyer, vendor and delivery contexts gives him a practical understanding of how organizations evaluate, procure and implement emerging technologies, and where otherwise compelling straegies can fail in execution.
