Daniel Sun is a member of Gartner CIO Research team, and is based in Beijing, China. He is a digital transformation evangelist and focuses on exploring how to leverage digital technologies (e.g., analytics) and capabilities (e.g., agile) to enable digital business model transformation.
Dr. Sun is the core topic leader of Evolving Business Models and Ecosystems. His primary research domains include digital transformation, IT operating model design, IT organizational design, business and IT alignment, digital business model innovation, digital dragons, digital ecosystems, agile and product-centric model.
He spends 70-80% of his interaction time with CIOs and the rest with non-IT executives (e.g., CEOs, CDOs and CFOs).
Prior to Gartner, Dr. Sun worked as digital transformation expert in SAP, head of consulting in IDC, and China General Manager in an U.K.-based business consulting firm. He has also got a number of years experience in AI software research and development.
