As a Director, Analyst in Gartner's Assurance Practice, Gamika Takkar advises Heads of ERM on emerging risk identification and management. She helps organizations detect early risk signals, prioritize emerging threats, and establish governance and monitoring approaches that translate uncertainty into executive‑level action. Further, she also provides guidance on enterprise risk management processes, helping Heads of ERM with risk identification and assessment, categorizing risks effectively in risk taxonomies and reporting on top risks to the ERC or Board. She is the research lead for Quarterly emerging risk reports and her current research covers risk trends and implications, and emerging risk management processes.
In her current role, she is the agenda manager for Gartner’s perennial priority on Emerging Risks.
She brings a strong perspective on risk response and governance, informed by her prior leadership of Gartner research on ERM risk response strategies and risk and control resources for internal audit. Earlier in her Gartner career, she also led research portfolio in the Customer Service and Support practice, giving her a cross‑functional lens on how emerging risks affect operations, customers and service delivery.
Prior to Gartner, she gained experience as a senior researcher working on India's economic relations with other South Asian countries under India's Ministry of External Affairs.
