Ian Bertram is a Global Manager within the Data and Analytics team in Gartner Research. He currently manages the Chief Data and Analytics Officer (CDAO) team. The team focuses on numerous areas of research such as: Data and Analytics Strategy and Operating Model, the Value of Data, the culture change data can bring, the value of D&A Governance, Development of a Data Literacy Program to name a few.
Ian has been involved in the D&A space since 2004, where he started by managed the BI team which in turned evolved to the analytics team. He's also managed the data management team, but is now more involved with strategic engagement and topics that drive CDAO's.
Mr. Bertram is based in Gartner's Sydney office.
Mr. Bertram has a background in the Asia/Pacific region in many areas of IT, starting from hardware and platform research (such as PCs, PDAs, servers and storage) to Asia/Pacific software research. He managed Gartner's global Analytics team for over 12 years, and he now manages the global Data Management team.
Mr. Bertram has spoken widely on the adoption of IT across the Asia/Pacific region. Prior to joining Gartner in November 1998, he was with IBM for 10 years, where he held a variety of roles, including financial analyst, new market development manager, IBM direct programs manager, and product management and brand marketing manager in the Asia/Pacific region.
