James Cameron is a Director Analyst in the Enterprise Architecture (EA) team at Gartner focusing in Business and Data Architecture, Operational Improvement, and Leadership. He has over 15 years experience operational leadership experience a decade of analyst and architectural experience.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Cameron completed an M.B.A. His past experience includes roles such as Manager of an EA practice, an Enterprise Architect, Business Analyst and Architect, Technical Analyst, and Project Manager for two Canadian Federal Government Departments - Department of National Defense and Correctional Services of Canada. In the federal public service, James has experience working with organizational design, business requirement documentation (BRD), software development life cycle (SDLC), project management life cycle (PMLC), project governance, architectural artefact development and evaluation, IM/IT standards governance and development, application portfolio management (APM), business capability modeling (BCM), and Critical Business and Applications Services (CBAS).
Before his public service career, James held senior leadership positions in higher education. He held roles of Regional Director of Education for Ontario for a Private Career College as well as an Academic Dean for a college campus. During that time, his experience included operation improvement, organization structure, business architecture, large enterprise wide IT modernization initiatives of content and learning management systems, and supported the architecting and launch an online campus for the college.
