Katya Skogen is a researcher with the consumer and culture insights team in the Gartner for Marketers business. She currently covers topics that include retail and consumer and culture research projects that span consumer segments and industries. In the last year, she had studied shifts in U.S. consumer attitudes and behaviors induced by the COVID-19 pandemic, civil unrest and economic hardship, consumer sentiment toward Amazon, and the mainstreaming of gig work in the U.S.
Ms. Skogen began her career at ExxonMobil. During her seven years with the company, she has fulfilled a variety of roles and served different business functions - from Public Affairs and General Management to Human Resources and Procurement. She has developed and implemented various business processes and applied her research skills to ensure business unit efficiency, informed decision making and regulatory compliance.
