Melanie O'Brien is a VP, Analyst and Key Initiative (KI) Leader serving clients under the Corporate Real Estate and ESG and Investor Relations core topics. Melanie addresses client challenges relating to workplace strategies , portfolio management, sustainability and effective investor communications. She is also responsible for the Corporate Real Estate research plan as KI Leader.

Previously Melanie was Team Manager for the Technology-led Corporate Finance & Services team based across APAC and North America leading researchers writing to Growth Investment and Cost Structure and Corporate Real Estate KIs. As the manager of this team, Melanie was responsible for research planning and client support, understanding the prevalent challenges Executives incur in these areas, particularly as real estate and ESG continue to demand increased Executive attention.

Previous experience

Prior to joining Gartner Research & Advisory, Melanie held a variety of roles including Manager in the Infrastructure, Economic and Commercial Advisory team at Deloitte and lead stakeholder engagement consultant on a range of significant infrastructure delivery projects in the APAC region. In these previous roles, her focus has been heavily in stakeholder engagement, business case design and modelling support, including advising clients on real estate portfolios and asset management, report writing, designing consultation efforts including setting up working groups, and undertaking risk mitigation involving environmental, social and governance matters.
