Milly Xiang is a Senior Director Analyst in the Technology and Service Provider group based in Gartner's Beijing office. In her role, Ms. Xiang focuses primarily provide insights and guidance to product management role in technology and service providers, in domain areas relevant to IoT in Smart Cities, Smart Buildings and manufacturing. She will also serve as a key thought leader for IoT research in Asia to cover a wide spectrum topics such as platforms, edge, connectivity, security etc.
Prior to Gartner, Ms. Xiang had 17 years' experience in providing research and consulting on topics including Internet of Things, telecommunications, enterprise mobility, cloud, big data, channel strategies and network infrastructure.
Ms. Xiang managed the telecom and IoT research team in IDC China, and led the team to build up IDC China's Internet of Thing research from ground up. In addition to syndicated researches, she involved in custom researches for various players in the telecom and IoT ecosystem in China (modules/devices, connectivity, IoT platform, gateway, analytics, professional service, cloud service, web 2.0, etc.), to support them with identifying addressable market, prioritizing investment and resources, defining business models, bench marking their peers, searching for partnerships/alliances, building up go-to-market strategies, etc.
