Monica Basso is a Managing Vice President in Gartner's CIO Research, where she leads the Innovation and Disruptions team of analysts that focuses on helping C-level executives to leverage disruptive technologies and trends to drive innovation, inspire digital business transformation and enable continuous evolution.
Prior to this role, Ms. Basso worked as Research analyst for 17 years, advising clients on strategies for digital workplace, innovation and digital transformation; collaboration and content technologies and markets. She led Research on Content Collaboration Platforms (CCP), enterprise file synchronization and sharing (EFSS) and modern content services. Coverage areas included enterprise mobility, mobile collaboration, impact of digital technologies on people, society and organizations; social trends affecting technology adoption; generational changes in IT.
Ms. Basso has 29 years of experience in information and communications technology, having held both technical and management positions.
Prior to joining Gartner, Ms. Basso worked at Alcatel as business development manager and business unit manager, for multichannel applications and internet portals.
Prior to that, she worked for TXT e-solutions as project manager for large European cooperative IT projects, covering internet technologies and applications, business process re-engineering, and software engineering domains. Her initial experiences focused on software design and implementation as a software engineer for real-time embedded applications.
