Nicholas Carter is a Senior Director research analyst with Gartner's Tech Product Manager team within the Technology and Service Providers research unit. Mr. Carter's research deals with product management across various technology domains, with a special focus on Application Programming Interfaces (API), integration platforms and related tool sets.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr Carter was Senior Director of Product Management at OpenText Corporation.
He was responsible for delivering OpenText's SaaS Cloud platform, API business, developer experience and tooling. He also led Product Management for the OpenText Business Process suite. Prior to that he was in charge of OpenText's Content Product Management team covering everything from Capture, Content, Information Governance and Archiving. He was also responsible for OpenText's IP portfolio for 4 years and ensuring that IP was appropriately shared across the organization.
Before OpenText Mr. Carter worked for Cincom Systems where he worked to build an award winning Customer Communication Management product, focused on automating and personalizing customer interactions.
Mr Carter started as an IBM Assembler programmer at British Airways and then moved into Real Time Support for BA before moving into Technical support and then Product Management at Cincom in the UK
