Nick Jones is a Vice President and Gartner Distinguished Analyst. Mr. Jones' research focuses primarily on Technology Innovation, IoT, emerging technologies, and the role of the CTO. His research coverage includes IoT strategy; 5G trends and applications; technology innovation tactics and processes; IoT trends; digital business models enabled by IoT; wireless technologies; the use of blockchain in IoT; location sensing and tracking technologies; RFID; megatrends. His secondary research interests also include engineering software for sustainability; user experience technologies; the use of mobile devices and apps as components of IoT solutions; consumerization; innovation strategy; autonomic systems; smart cities; the social impact of technology; social distancing technologies.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Jones gained wide experience in IT from both the user and vendor perspectives.
