Peter Liu is a VP Analyst in Gartner's Technology and Service Provider Research Group. Mr. Liu is based in Asia/Pacific. He is a member of the TSP Industries team and covers the Telecom (primary) and Public Sector (secondary) markets. He focused on the Industry Product Planning and Strategy and Industry Strategy Execution Key Initiatives for Product Managers and Tech CEOs. His research is focused on mobile network evolution such as: 5G/Mobile Core/Optical Transportation/Small Cell) and Intelligent Network management and operations such as MANO/AI/SDN/NFV/cloudification). His research and advice are aimed at identifying and applying emerging technologies, products and practices for operation efficiency and related competitive landscapes. He has 19 years' experience in telecom industry.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Liu held various technical and management positions in the telecom industry, including Senior Business Consultant and Head of Solution Architecture (Core and IMS) at Ericsson, Region China and East Asia. His prior roles include project management, solution architecture, system integration and software development with multicountries working experience. In his most recent role at Ericsson, he was a senior consultant, providing consulting services to operators in Region East and North Asia. He specially focused on communication services, telecom cloud, IoT, OTT strategy as well as the new business model in MBB era.
