Sr Principal Analyst

Rui Zhang is a member of the CIO Research group, focusing on digital business and innovation. She advises CEOs, CIOs, and other executive leaders on developing strategies for digital business transformation and acceleration. Her most recent research is on the talent ecosystem and talent marketplaces, helping CIOs win the talent war. She has a passion for business model innovation, as well as researching digital dragons and giants (e.g. Amazon, Alibaba). She advises executive leaders on how to work with digital giants, and how to learn from digital native companies internally. She also helps CIOs and CxOs understand how to get started with digital transformation across business functions within the organization, and how to create a strategic vision and ambition for their enterprises.

Previous experience

Prior to Gartner, she worked for a financial technology (FinTech) firm as a Product and Program Manager where she led an innovation program to accelerate open banking for financial institutions in the Americas, Africa, and Asia, and successfully enabled them to launch digital products.
