Russ Hendy is a Senior Director Analyst covering Emerging Technologies and Trends within AI-Native and AI-Assisted Software and Product Engineering. Russ advises product leaders on the skills, processes, technologies, and emerging trends related to the use of AI across the Software Development Lifecycle, such as the role of human developers in Agentic software engineering, and the promise and perils of a Zero-Friction SDLC. Russ also covers software product strategy, team shape, enterprise adoption and vendor business strategies. Having run a digital product business he provides guidance to Tech CEOs, CIOs, CTOs, General Managers and Product Leaders.
Russ was the Managing Director of a Digital and AI product consultancy, working with C-Level and enterprise clients in multinational organisations over more than 7 years. During this time Russ led strategic shifts toward both AI solution development and AI-native software engineering practices.
Before that, Russ worked as both a Principal Digital Consultant and Software Engineer for the same consulting business, working with large enterprises to design, deliver and manage technology projects over 23 years.
Russ worked at IBM's Software Development Lab in Warwick for a short time after University.
