Samuel (Sam) New is a Senior Principal Analyst in the Supply Chain Operations team. Sam focuses on external manufacturing services including service providers, provider attributes, emerging offerings, and market direction. In addition, He advises buyers and potential buyers of contract manufacturing services on vendor selection, vendor management, and relationship assessment and optimization.
Additionally, Sam covers the market for commercially-available quality management system (QMS) software, helping both buyers and software providers define system requirements, evaluate potential vendors, and plan for successful software deployments.
Finally, Sam covers a diverse set of topics in sourcing and procurement, which include, but are not limited to, supplier segmentation, category management, and metrics for sourcing and procurement.
Prior to joining Gartner in 2014, Mr. New held various supply chain roles at Raytheon Company, including subcontract management (DoD and Commercial), procurement (direct and indirect) material program management, project management, supply chain technology solutions and management, business continuity planning, and supplier diversity management. He is a graduate of Raytheon's flagship Supply Chain Leadership Development Program (SCLDP).
