Samantha Darnell is an Enterprise Risk Management analyst supporting Chief Risk Officers, Heads of ERM and other assurance leaders to improve enterprise risk management assessments, processes, strategies, and mature ERM programs. Samantha advises leaders on topics such as: integrating risk and strategy, managing and maturing the ERM function, strengthening risk ownership and risk appetite. Current research focuses include ERM's interactions with the executive risk committee, how to manage newly emerged risks, and how to effectively use AI in ERM.
Prior to joining Gartner, Samantha researched the effects of sociopolitical risks on corporate strategy and performance. Additionally, she spent 4 years working in supply chain and procurement roles. She holds a PhD and Masters in Management (Strategy) from The Wharton School of Business at The University of Pennsylvania and undergraduate degrees in Supply Chain Management and Spanish Literature from the University of Texas at Austin.
