His personal areas of expertise include: AI leadership that drives business outcomes through new ways of working, evolving roles and team structures and new ways of leading. Val's focus spans the following: CIO and executive personal use of AI, making the IT organization a showcase of AI outcomes, applying AI to business functions, using AI to grow revenues and improve mission accomplishment while improving risk posture. Previously, Val led Gartner’s Global Business & Technology Insights organization of over 3,000 professionals, who serve leaders of business functions (e.g. Assurance, Customer Service, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Product Management, Supply Chain) and IT Leadership Roles. Earlier Gartner Business & Technology Insights roles included: CIO & Industries Practice Lead and Software Practice Lead. A 35-year industry veteran, he joined Gartner in 2005 with the acquisition of Meta Group. Mr. Sribar holds a bachelors degree from Cornell University School of Engineering – Materials Science.
Mr. Sribar was most recently responsible for Meta Group's Executive Directions and Industry Services. Previously, he was an Executive Directions analyst working one-on-one with CIOs and other IT leaders. During his 12 years at Meta, he served as general manager of infrastructure, operations, security and customer relationship offerings. He also ran Meta's Global Networking Strategies service.
