Vanessa Hines works with Chief Procurement Officers and their leadership teams to shape procurement technology strategy at the enterprise level. She helps leaders understand how AI and advanced platforms are changing what procurement technology can do across contract management and emerging solutions. Her work focuses on guiding technology and vendor decisions and helping CPOs use those choices to expand procurement’s value and influence across the business.
Vanessa joined Gartner after a long career as a strategic sourcing and procurement practitioner. She began in legal operations and progressed into procurement leadership roles focused on technology, where she worked closely with teams to adopt platforms, use data more effectively, and build digital capabilities as the function evolved.
She brings this perspective from roles at LinkedIn, Stripe, Porsche, Starbucks, and Bank of America, where she partnered with senior leaders as procurement’s expectations changed. Across these environments, her work centered on how technology decisions influenced what procurement could deliver and how the function showed up across the enterprise.
