Vishnu Kumar is a Director Analyst in Gartner’s CIO & AI Leaders practice. He advises CIOs and senior technology leaders on the operating choices that sit between strategy and execution, with a focus on IT shared services, enterprise operating models, and ecosystem partnerships. His work helps leaders strengthen collaboration between globally distributed shared services teams, navigate emerging vendor and service provider market shifts in IT shared services and balance decision-making between global, regional and local teams.
Before joining Gartner’s CIO & AI Leaders practice, Vishnu led and contributed to numerous research initiatives across Gartner’s Procurement and Corporate Strategy practices. In Procurement, he supported Chief Procurement Officers on vendor management, RFI/RFP development, P2P process improvement and supplier diversity programs. In Corporate Strategy, he helped Chief Strategy Officers and senior strategy leaders elevate corporate strategy practices, including strategic planning, strategy execution and internal consulting capabilities. As Key Initiative Leader for 'Corporate Strategic Planning', he led the research agenda for corporate strategic planning, strategy execution, and annual planning processes that can adapt to rapidly changing market conditions.
