Forty-eight percent of R&D organizations in our survey sample have a formal technology scouting process; 40% follow an informal technology scouting process.
Over 90% of R&D organizations surveyed assign technology scouting responsibilities to either several individuals across different teams or to one or more entire teams. Less than 10% of R&D organizations have designated just one individual to scout for new technologies.
