This Consult the Board survey summary features perspectives from 10 Gartner Research Board for Global CIOs members regarding their plans to evolve their high performance computing (HPC) strategies. It examines members’ methods of deployment of HPC solutions, the primary infrastructure and chip suppliers that are best positioned to support their HPC evolution strategies, and strategic initiatives contributing to members’ ability to become an industry leader.

There is an equal split in the number of respondents (4 of 10) that currently use and those that neither use nor are planning to use HPC.
Two (of five) respondents each have deployed HPC on-premises and on public cloud.
AWS, Microsoft, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are either highly or somewhat able to support the HPC strategies of three (of five) respondents.
Three (of five) respondents rate HPE and Microsoft as the key suppliers capable of supporting their HPC evolution strategies.
