Overview
Key Findings
According to Gartner’s 2023 Procurement Competencies Survey, 46% of surveyed procurement organizations report having enough talent to meet their current performance requirements. However, only 14% of the organizations believe they have adequate talent to meet future performance requirements.
59% of procurement teams are viewed as strategic partners in their firms, yet on average only 30% of procurement staff feel their competency models are relevant to their day-to-day job.
Shifting factors, including digitalization and the increased strategic role of procurement in new value streams (such as ESG goals and robust risk plans), require new competencies for procurement staff to be successful
