This Consult the Board survey summary features perspectives from 12 Gartner Research Board for Global CIOs members regarding their approaches to secure data in their data warehouses. It describes the technologies that members implement for data protection, methods they follow for bulk data sharing, and the experience they have in using robotic process automation (RPA) for data security.

Nearly all respondents (11 of 12) implement data encryption for data protection.
Four (of 10) respondents use only symmetric encryption. Another four respondents use both symmetric and asymmetric encryption.
Two-thirds of the respondents (8 of 12) commonly use Representational State Transfer Application Programming Interface (REST API) for bulk data transfer.
Most respondents (6 of 10) do not use RPA for data security; however, they are considering using it in the next 12 months.
