Previous experience

Prior to joining GARTNER, Doug served as Project Executive, leading a team of 7 Directors and 100 FTEs in a 20-month, on-time replacement of a mission-critical, $2.5B annual sales operations platform for Warner Bros. He also served as Solution Architect for AOL’s SAP implementation to resolve a DoJ revenue recognition mandate and for Merrill Lynch’s Corporate Client New Account Opening (NAO) Platform for institutional investors. He also served as technology and negotiation advisor for a Clearing and Settling Service Provider that was successfully acquired by Merrill Lynch.

Doug was also a Sr. Executive Partner in the CIO service of the META Group after leading META Group's research agenda in database (DBMS) architecture and design (DataWarehousing, Online Transaction Processing), focusing on Y2k risk, and then ERP infrastructure, integration, product selection, implementation, & sustainment including enterprise application integration. Doug relaunched and grew META Group's CIO membership in the Nordics to 68 members in 3 yrs with an 88% renewal rate.

Prior to these employment experiences, Doug was the Product Manager for Information Builder's FOCUS and EDA/SQL on the HP MPE/iX and HP/UX operating systems and on IBM's AS/400.
