Eric Hunter is a vice president analyst within Gartner's Technology and Service Provider (T&SP) organization. Mr. Hunter focuses his research and advisory engagements to support executive leaders in the role of CEO, product management and product marketing. He also supports research and client engagements with enterprise data and analytics leaders. His pragmatic insights target product strategy and launch, customer acquisition and overall go-to-market best practices. Mr. Hunter's research efforts prioritize the delivery of innovation and business outcomes that align with B2B buyers' demands for accelerated business value.
Mr. Hunter's professional experience spans 20 years in the domain of data and analytics. He has led large product and platform teams across the full spectrum of data and analytics innovation and products/services. His experiences span both midsize and large enterprises as well as technology provider presales engineering and sales enablement.
Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Hunter led data and analytics product teams and strategic architecture/roadmap initiatives for over 18 years in both enterprise and consulting capacities. He supported multiple large enterprises as a senior leader including The Walt Disney Co., Aflac, Honeywell, TBC Corp. and Teradata Corp.
In leading large teams, his technical experiences cover the full data and analytics continuum including integration/data pipelines/ETL, data warehouse/data lake, BI/reporting and data science/machine learning platforms both on-premises and within the public cloud. Mr. Hunter is an M.B.A. graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology with an undergraduate degree in computer and information science from the University of Florida. He is also a certified Six-Sigma Blackbelt and project management professional (PMP).
