My primary research area is in the application of AI-powered development tools and processes for software engineering throughout the SLDC, from simple augmentation of human development to agentic tools that work autonomously. I also explore the intersection of AI technology with process and organization design.
I've worked in software engineering for over 30 years - both as a developer and as a manager - from startups to Fortune 500 companies, across multiple industries. Before arriving at Gartner, I led the Developer Experience group at Nubank, driving the initial adoption of AI tools across the engineering organization.
