Leif-Olof Wallin is a Research Vice President in Gartner Research, where Mr. Wallin advises enterprise clients on all aspects of mobile and IoT technology and services. He heads the research around Mobile Enterprise Strategy within Gartner and is one of the most frequent authors on IoT from an enterprise perspective. His research has a special focus on enterprise mobility, where he pays special attention to mobile strategy, both stand-alone and as part of a digital strategy, digital workplace and frontline workers. He has been covering the M2M and telematics aspects of IoT for close to two decades, long before IoT became established.
Mr. Wallin has 40 years of experience in the IT industry, including extensive international experience. He is a frequent speaker at events on mobile and IoT technologies, including their impact on commercial best practices and telecom service providers. He joined Gartner in April 2005 with the acquisition of Meta Group, where he led the mobile infrastructure research on a global basis. Prior to joining Meta Group in April 2001, he was vice president of European operations at Surgency (formerly Benchmarking Partners), where he led a research practice on the mobile internet and helped build European presence. Previously, he was chief technology officer for Industri-Matematik International, a recognized leading supplier of supply chain execution solutions.
