CMOs can use this tool to view how consumers’ COVID-19 concerns have shifted over time since the outbreak began. In early-March 2020, Gartner launched an ongoing series of surveys offered to an online Consumer Community panel to gauge respondents’ changing sentiment, attitudes and behaviors during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Thisinteractive toolaggregates data from consumer responses to a question about the most acute concerns related to the COVID-19 outbreak. The tool is updated with new data approximately once a month.

Note: While Gartner Consumer Community (n = 450) members resemble the U.S. general population, the data presented here is based on the responses of community members who chose to take each individual activity (sample sizes vary). Respondent samples for individual activities may not be representative of the general population and the data should only be used for directional insights.

What It Is

This interactive tool helps CMOs gauge how the thinking of their target customers continues to evolve since the COVID-19 outbreak began, which, in turn, helps them plan for projects, budgets, products and services during a period of great uncertainty.

Directions for Use

Click the launch button to open the tool and scroll through the interactive tables. Page between the date tabs at the top and select demographic cuts from the drop-down menu. Then, mouse over the list to see differentiated responses from consumers.
