The 2023 CIO and Technology Executive Survey indicates transportation CIOs are getting good results from risk reduction and resilience investments, but are struggling to sell a common vision for digital across the business. IT budgets are rising, but not as fast as revenues.
IT budgets are set to grow 3.2% but that’s much slower than anticipated revenue growth of more than 6% on average.
About 16% of transportation companies surveyed get more than 50% of their revenue from digital services and products. On average, 22% of revenue comes from these sources.
Transportation companies struggle the most with creating a shared vision for technology across the enterprise or create a compelling vision for what they want technology to do for them.
