This Consult the Board survey summary features inputs from eight Data and Analytics Research Board members regarding their approaches to managing unstructured data. It examines the volume of unstructured data at members’ organizations, changes in this volume from 2022 to 2023, and the use of third-party solutions to manage unstructured data.
What trends are members seeing with their unstructured data and what actions are they taking to manage such data?
A plurality of respondents (3 of 8) have less than 25% of their overall data in the unstructured format.
Half of the respondents (4 of 8) witnessed a 25% increase in the volume of unstructured data between January 2022 to January 2023.
Another four (of 8) respondents estimate that for the rest of 2023, this volume will increase at the same rate as it did in 2022.
Almost all respondents (5 of 6) do not use a third-party solution to manage
