Summary
In the forecast period of 2023 to 2027, $13 billion was added to the foundry revenue due to the surge of AI-GPU wafer demand, albeit not enough to improve short-term business outlook. Foundry revenue is projected to decline by 5.6.% to $123.3 billion in 2023, followed by 13.3% recovery in 2024.

Overview
Forecast Assumptions
During this forecast period of 2023 to 2027, $13 billion of revenue is added to the foundry revenue. Even with the addition of $31 billion of graphics processing unit (GPU) revenue to the device forecast during the forecast period (due to the rise of AI data centers), nonmemory semiconductor revenue will decline by 3.4% in 2023, followed by 8.4% growth in 2024.
Increase in AI-graphics processing units (GPUs) will drive the demand of foundry-supplied advanced nodes wafers and interposers by 50,000 wafers each per month in 2027 — a 3.5 times increase from its level in 2023.
