Overview
Key Findings
Many organizations have analyzed the threat that ransomware poses and found that the recovery time from traditional backup methods alone simply will not suffice for critical workloads.
Storage (and cloud) vendors are adding additional data storage capabilities that include options such as immutability that should be combined with enterprise backup tools to provide more recovery options and improve recovery time objective (RTO) and recovery point objective (RPO).
Continuous data protection (CDP) and snapshots traditionally associated with data replication and disaster recovery (DR) can offer faster restoration for both servers, databases and virtual machines if data integrity is protected.
