All the providers profiled in this Critical Capabilities rely extensively on third-party colocation providers to host their network points of presence (POPs), network function virtualization (NFV) services, carrier-based cloud interconnect (CBCI) services, secure access service edge (SASE) services and security service edge (SSE) services.
At least four providers are migrating away from traditional separate service infrastructures to fully converged next-generation core backbone services.
All the providers profiled in this research have expanded their internet-based transport options by introducing more local internet service provider partners. Six of the 12 providers have introduced enhanced internet services, as well as increased peering
