Overview
Key Findings
Seventy-two percent of executives are confident that the environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals they select are the right goals for their organization.
However, ESG goals are not meaningfully impacting organizational strategy (e.g., help achieve strategic goals). Only 18% of business leaders agree their ESG goals make it easier for their organization to achieve its strategic objectives.
Ensuring ESG goals accelerate the organization’s strategic objectives is critical for effectively achieving these goals. ESG goals that have strategic impact are 1.4 times more likely to be achieved on time than those that do not drive meaningful progress toward achieving strategic objectives.
