Overview
Key Findings
General counsel (GC) are increasingly being asked to review and sign off on how IT deploys Copilot for Microsoft 365, powered by generative AI. However, without fully understanding Copilot risks, it’s difficult for GC to confidently approve the use of Copilot.
Access controls and information governance in Microsoft 365 remain a significant challenge. In Gartner’s 2023 Microsoft 365 Survey, almost 60% of respondents stated that oversharing, data loss and content sprawl were among the biggest risks to their organization’s Microsoft 365 environment. Deploying Copilot for Microsoft 365 without first taking steps to address these risks will increase them.
