Despite efforts to jointly focus on business value, many chief information security officers (CISOs) and CFOs continue to experience challenges in communicating and understanding one another’s key priorities. Assumptions and misconceptions result in inefficiencies, mutual distrust, friction and ultimately, subpar outcomes.
“Risk” is a core concept for both CISOs and CFOs, but has various implications within each domain. A lack of a common lexicon for risk can result in frustrating communication issues and delayed response to urgent security needs.
