Enterprise network equipment (ENE) market revenue rose 12.6% in 2023, largely driven by a spike in growth in 1H23, while 2H23 revenue only grew 0.9% over 1H23. Market revenue in 2023 increased by 20.7% for SD-WAN, by 18.0% for switches, by 11.9% for WLAN and by 3.1% for firewall.
Broadly across the ENE market, the impact of supply issues, combined with vendor price increases and retreating levels of backlog in 2023, largely contributed to uncommon year-over-year growth comparisons.
Combined wireless LAN (WLAN) and campus switching revenue declined from the first half to the second half of the year, unprecedented in the past 20 years.
The average revenue per campus switch port rose 25% from 2022 to 2023, generating an increase of 20.4% in market revenue, despite a decline of 3.4% in global port shipments.
