Education CIOs can use Gartner’s Digital Execution Scorecard to assess their progress on key digital performance indicators and to benchmark performance against peers. Thus, CIOs can evaluate digital progress for internal performance and peer comparison.
Digital product and services comprise a small, but significant, percentage of education revenue, with the median education provider earning 10% of its total revenue from such offerings. This is the highest among all of the industries measured in the Digital Execution Scorecard.
By contrast, education institutions have slightly lower median scores in analytics-enabled workforce, which reflects the challenges of implementing this approach in education.
Education institutions are significantly better at moving applications to the cloud, and allocate more resources to in-house application design, delivery and maintenance when compared with other industries.
