Copilot for Microsoft 365 has received significant attention but lacks independent data to support its real-world value. This research outlines Gartner’s 2024 Digital Workplace GenAI survey findings to help application technical professionals assess the impact and value of M365 Copilot so far.
Many organizations are not yet rolling out M365 Copilot at scale — opting instead for smaller, targeted deployments. 60% of our survey respondents were running pilots, with 48% planning to move to small-scale deployments in 2024/25. Only 6% reported finishing their pilot and actively moving to a large-scale deployment.
Employeesare excited to try M365 Copilot and survey respondents reported that 90% would fight to retain access. However, they also noted that 72% struggle to integrate it into their daily routines and 57% report engagement declines quickly.
