Summary
Employee connection to culture is already under pressure, resulting in organizations entering M&A from a position of cultural weakness. Employees are less clear about organizational culture, feeling less connected to it and less equipped to translate it into everyday behaviors. M&A can amplify that uncertainty by disrupting familiar norms, expectations, and ways of working. The CHRO’s role as a cultural architect brings discipline to the decision-making process and ensures culture is an intentional part of the deal strategy.
