Analysts: Victoria Cason, Fadeen Davis, Richard Addiscott

Cybersecurity leaders have seen the global talent deficit steadily increase upward from 2.7 million individuals in 2021 to 3.9 million individuals in 2023. This upward trend suggests the global talent deficit will continue to accelerate.

  • Develop a cybersecurity workforce strategy that includes demonstrable investment in skills development, a leadership succession plan and a “promote from within” policy
  • Mitigate the cybersecurity workforce’s frustrations by continuously assessing employee burnout
  • Evaluate longer-term strategies to foster future security talent
