Summary
Meta’s Muse is an important step toward a persistent, agentic personal AI assistant that can move beyond answering questions to executing multistep tasks. Its strategic significance is larger than the near-term revenue opportunity: consumer AI platforms are converging on the same interface, intensifying competition for user intent, transaction access and data generated as agents act on users’ behalf. Monetization is likely to develop more slowly than adoption because platforms must balance transaction economics, partner access, trust, governance and the risk of disintermediating existing advertising and commerce relationships.
