Wireless attacks are becoming increasingly sophisticated yet most network security and online fraud prevention products in the market do not adequately address the risks. Product leaders of these solutions should be acutely aware of this evolving trend and factor it into their long-term roadmaps.
Most mobile devices are susceptible to wireless over-the-air attacks; the threatscape remains relatively large and unaddressed. Mobile threat defense (MTD) is primarily the only market today attempting to mitigate this despite threats being prevalent for over a decade; however, advanced security solutions are often targeted at enterprise device hardening rather than network security and online fraud prevention.
The online fraud prevention market remains largely unguarded against modern over-the-air wireless attacks. Few vendors offer solutions capable of effectively addressing the evolving wireless threatscape that has an increasingly lower barrier of entry for adversaries.
