Hyperscale cloud providers have broad, complex service portfolios. Most organizations will not adopt every service. I&O technical professionals in a cloud architect role must govern the life cycle — approval, onboarding, update and deprecation — of services from already-approved providers.
Cloud integrated infrastructure and platform as a service (IaaS+PaaS) providers, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, have more than a hundred services within their platforms and continuously introduce more.
