Chuck is an analyst specializing in wealth management on Gartner's Global Financial Services Industry CIO team. He advises executives on their most pressing challenges, focusing on both technology and business issues. His research includes tools that enhance advisor-client collaboration, e.g., financial planning, portfolio management, client reporting, aggregation, digital tools, and wealth-related platform providers. His research also address the technologies, fintechs and new entrants disrupting wealth management.
Prior to his current role, he facilitated Gartner's Wealth Management and Investment Management Executive Circles. He worked with these leaders and their teams to frame and address their critical business challenges such as product innovation, client experience, talent development and digital business transformation.
Earlier with Gartner, he worked with institutional investors to help them incorporate insights from Gartner's research in their investment processes.
Before Gartner, he worked in investment management as a tech sector equity analyst, PM and Director of Research. He has also worked in manufacturing cellular accessories in Brazil and international relations in the Middle East.
His previous roles include Equity Analyst at Technology Bessemer Trust, Equity Analyst/Sector Portfolio Manager at Dreyfus and Vice President and Regional Manager, Latin America, Advanced Micro Solutions. Mr. Thomas has extensive experience of working in the Middle East and North Africa.
