Derek Frost is a VP, Analyst who helps executives in commercial and retail banking. His key coverage areas are commercial banking growth (with a focus on small business banking as well as credit access for underserved community businesses), climate change and ESG, customer financial inclusion and empowerment, digital transformation, and digital client experience. Derek has helped banking leaders develop customer strategies that strengthen client relationships and financial well-being. He has also worked with them on multiexperience channel approaches that balance people-led and digital engagement. In addition, he assists bank CIOs and Product Leaders at technology and service providers in understanding key business priorities of commercial and consumer banking lines of business.
Derek has an extensive background in helping financial services executives achieve their mission-critical priorities. His industry career started at the Advisory Board Company, where he delivered research to banking and insurance clients through workshops and presentations. He then moved to the Corporate Executive Board, providing advice on commercial and retail banking in one-to-one, small group, and large conference settings across a global client base.
From 2018 to 2022, he led Gartner's Executive Circles for leaders of retail banking operations and small business banking at the leading banks in North America, sharing research insights and facilitating peer discussions around industry challenges. He currently supports a diverse, global group of executives, including business unit leaders, CIOs, and technology and service providers.
